Learn EVAL

Documentation for the EVAL Health platform — run your clinic, build clinical evaluations, manage research studies, and integrate with EHR systems.

Welcome

EVAL is a platform for healthcare teams and researchers. You can build clinical evaluations without writing code, send assessments to patients on a schedule, track outcomes across your population, and connect it all to your EHR. This documentation covers everything you need to get up and running.

What do you want to do?

Use EVAL in your clinic

Track patients, triage results, and manage assessments across your team. Start with Care Panels to organize your patient population, then explore Charts for individual patient records.

Build clinical evaluations

Design evaluations with questions, scoring logic, and visibility rules — no coding required. The Guides walk you through the methodology, and the Builder covers every feature you'll use to create your evaluations.

Run a research study

Organize study cohorts, schedule assessment protocols, collect participant data through shareable links, and export results for analysis. Start with Care Panels and see the common workflows for a research-specific setup guide.

Set up and manage your organization

Configure your account, manage team members, connect your EHR system, and handle billing. Head to the Reference section for account administration, or Integrations for EHR connectivity.

Complete an evaluation (for patients)

If you've been asked to complete an evaluation by your healthcare provider, the Patient Portal guide explains how to log in, complete assessments, and view your results.

New to EVAL?

  1. Read the Introduction to understand what EVAL is, who it's for, and how the platform is organized.
  2. Try it out. Follow the Getting started guide to explore the platform with a test account.
  3. Go deeper. Once you're oriented, use the sidebar to navigate directly to the feature you need.

Key concepts

An evaluation (or "eval" for short) is a clinical instrument you build in EVAL — it collects patient data through questions and produces results through scoring formulas. You create evaluations in the Builder, a no-code interface for designing sections, questions, results, and visibility rules.

When a patient or practitioner completes an evaluation, they use the Player — the interface that walks through the questions and submits responses. Published evaluations are available in your Library and can be shared through the Marketplace.

Charts is where you manage individual patient records, while Care Panels let you group patients together and track outcomes across your entire population.
